Start a multiplayer race
Have several of the center's simulators race on the same track, one creating the race, the others joining it.
In multiplayer, one simulator creates the race and becomes the host; the others join it as guests and share its track. It is the format for groups, birthdays and evenings with friends.
Prepare the simulators
To do once, on each simulator that will take part.
Turn on the mode
On the unlocked simulator, tap ⚙, General tab, MODES block. Tick Multiplayer.
Check the multiplayer identity
In the ASSETTO CORSA block, look at Steam account (multiplayer identity). Each simulator must have a different account. Without a Steam account, the simulator shows "No Steam account detected (loginusers.vdf not found) — a local identifier is used for multiplayer.": this is normal, this identifier is specific to the simulator.
Save
Click Save.
The Multiplayer card then appears on the Mode screen, provided that at least one active track of the chosen experience accepts racing.
Create the race (host simulator)
Any simulator can be the host: it is the one whose player chooses Create a race.
Choose Create a race
On the Mode screen, the player chooses Multiplayer, then Create a race.
Set up the race
They choose their level, their car, the track, then the weather and time of day if you leave them to the driver. These track, weather and time-of-day choices apply to all guests. If the weather is not left to the driver, the race is played with the host simulator's default weather: see Choose the weather offered.
Open the lobby
On the summary, they tap Create the lobby. The Lobby screen lists the registered drivers, the host first. As long as no guest has joined, the button shows WAITING FOR OTHER PLAYERS.

When the guests are there, the host taps START THE RACE. All the simulators start Assetto Corsa on the same race.
Join the race (guest simulators)
Choose Join a race
On the Mode screen, the player chooses Multiplayer, then Join a race. The Join screen looks for open races and refreshes every 2 seconds.
Choose the race
They select the host's race in the list.
Choose level and car
They choose their level, then their car from those the host allows. The track, the weather and the time of day are the host's: these screens are skipped.
Enter the lobby
On the summary, they tap Join the lobby. Their simulator shows "Please wait for the host to start the race" until the start.
Result
All the simulators go on track together. Loading and waiting on the grid are not deducted: each player has the Multiplayer wait time (Settings › Simulation, 45 seconds by default) to join the grid. After the race, each simulator ends its session as in solo play.
Who sets the duration
The host controls the duration of the race: it is the time on their ticket. Each guest drives the shorter of two times, their own or the host's.
A guest whose ticket is worth 30 minutes, in a race whose host has 15 minutes, drives 15 minutes. The 15 minutes not driven stay on their ticket, like the remaining time of an interrupted session. See How a QR code's credit is used.
Good to know
- 12 cars at most, host included: 11 guests. The twelfth guest who tries to join sees "Lobby full — 12 drivers maximum, host included." and goes back to the multiplayer menu.
- Only your simulators appear in Join: those of your account that have shown signs of life in the last 10 minutes.
- The Windows firewall is set up by IGNITION. Between simulators, ports 7000, 8888 and 9999 in TCP and 9998 in UDP must stay open: keep this in mind if the center has another firewall.
- If the host cancels the lobby, the guests see "Connection to the host lost" and go back to the multiplayer menu.
- Two simulators set to the same Steam account replace each other in the lobby: only one of the two players appears.
- Auto-launch is suspended while waiting in a lobby.
Troubleshooting
| Message on screen | Cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| No Multiplayer card | Mode not ticked on the simulator, or no active racing track in this experience. | Check ⚙ › General › MODES, then the active tracks. |
| "No server available right now. Scanning" | The host has not opened their lobby yet, or their simulator cannot be reached. | Have the lobby opened; check that both simulators are on the same network and that the ports are open. |
| "Cannot join — content unavailable" | The guest is missing the host's car or track. | Install the missing content, or share it between simulators. |
| "Connection to the host lost" | The host canceled, or the network dropped. | Create the race again from the host. |
| "Unable to start the lobby: …" | The lobby could not open on the host simulator. | Note the end of the message and contact Omnisim support. |
| "Lobby full — 12 drivers maximum, host included." | The race already has 11 guests. | The player waits for the next race, or the host creates another one. |
| "Could not launch Assetto Corsa (host)." or "(guest)." | Assetto Corsa does not start on this simulator. On the host side, the lobby is closed and the simulator goes back to the multiplayer menu. | See Assetto Corsa does not start. |
| A guest disappears from the lobby when another arrives | Both simulators have the same Steam account. | Give each simulator its own account in Steam account (multiplayer identity). |
