Use a simulator in free access
Open a simulator without a QR code, for an event or a center without online sales, then close it again.
In free access, the simulator opens without a ticket: each player enters their username and drives a session of fixed duration, as many times as they like. It is the mode for a private evening, a trade show, or a center that does not sell online.
A simulator in free access asks for nothing
As long as free access is on, anyone can play without paying. Keep the simulators concerned under supervision, and protect the settings with a PIN code (see below): without it, a player can tick Free-access mode themselves from ⚙.
What changes for the player
- No scan: the simulator goes straight to the DRIVER screen, where the player enters their username. Their laps enter the leaderboards under this name.
- A session lasts the Default session duration: Settings › Simulation › Default session duration, 10 minutes if you have not changed anything.
- Results screen: at the end of the session, the player sees their times on the SESSION RESULTS screen for 15 seconds, then the simulator goes back to the DRIVER screen for the next player.
- Screensaver: without any action during the Idle delay, the simulator shows "READY TO DRIVE?" on your screensaver; any control wakes it up.
Turn on free access for an event
The recommended method: a Free access command QR code, with an end date.
Create the command QR code
In NEXUS, open QR Codes, Command QR codes tab, then click Create command QR.
Choose the action and the period
In Action, choose Free access. In Validity period, enter the start and the end: the end date is mandatory for this action. Click Generate QR.
Scan the QR code on each simulator
Scan the QR code on each simulator to open. It stays valid until its end date and can be used as many times as needed.
Result
The simulator leaves the screensaver and shows the DRIVER screen. In Simulators, its status becomes Free access. Each scan is recorded in the Log, action Free access: the row appears with the status Scanned, then changes to Success when the simulator has carried out the command.
On the end date, the simulator locks itself: immediately if nobody is driving, otherwise as soon as the current session ends. It then only accepts tickets.
Turn on free access from the simulator
On the unlocked simulator, tap ⚙, General tab, IGNITION block. Tick Free-access mode, then click Save. Free access then lasts until you untick it. The activation is recorded in the Log: action Free access on, origin Simulator.

On the simulator, tap ⚙, General tab, IGNITION block. Untick Free-access mode, then click Save.
Result
The simulator locks immediately, shows your screensaver and only opens with a ticket. If a session is in progress when you save, the player finishes it: the simulator locks at its end. The Log records Free access off, origin Simulator.
Revoking the Free access QR code in NEXUS only prevents new scans: it does not stop a free access already active on a simulator.

Troubleshooting
