Monitor your simulators live
See the status of each simulator from NEXUS and act remotely — lock, put in maintenance, close Assetto Corsa, restart, view a diagnostic.
The NEXUS Simulators page shows the status of each of your simulators, refreshed continuously. This is where you lock, put in maintenance or restart a simulator without walking over to it.
Read the list of simulators
Open Simulators, in the Operations group of the sidebar. The list covers the centers selected in the sidebar and updates every 10 seconds while the tab is displayed.
captures/en/simulateurs/listeSimulators page: status counters at the top, then the list of simulators with their status and the Diag, Standby, Lock, Maint., Restart and AC buttonsAt the top of the page, the Total, Racing, Available, Unlocked, Maintenance, Standby and Offline counters always describe all of your simulators, whatever filter is applied to the list. The Standby counter includes sleeping simulators. A License inactive counter, in red, is added when at least one simulator is in that case.
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Name | The simulator's name. Below it, its number and the IGNITION version installed (Version). |
| Status | The simulator's current state (see the next table). |
| Type | The simulator's simulator type, set on the simulator itself. Not set if no type is chosen. |
| Last seen | The time elapsed since the last signal received from the simulator. |
| Center | The simulator's center. Shown only if you have several centers. |
| Diag | Opens the simulator's diagnostic. |
| Standby, Lock, Maint., Restart, AC | The remote commands, described below. Missing if your role does not allow you to control the simulators. |
The ▸ arrow at the end of the row also shows processor (CPU) and memory (RAM) usage, the graphics card temperature (GPU) and the application in the foreground (App).
Statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Racing | Assetto Corsa is running on the simulator. |
| Maintenance | The simulator shows its maintenance screen. |
| Standby | Screen off, simulator locked, but still reachable. See Put a simulator on standby. |
| Free access | The simulator welcomes players without a ticket. See Use a simulator in free access. |
| Unlocked | IGNITION is open and the simulator accepts a player without a scan. |
| Available | IGNITION is open, the simulator is waiting for a QR code scan. |
| Unavailable | The simulator is communicating, but IGNITION does not report itself as running. |
| License inactive | The simulator is on and trying to reach Omnisim, but its license is deactivated or your subscription is no longer active. See A simulator appears offline. |
| Asleep | The simulator went to sleep at the scheduled time. It will wake up on its own; if it is not back 10 minutes after the wake time, it becomes Offline. See Schedule shutdown and wake-up. |
| Powered off | The energy schedule, in ⏻ Shut down mode, switched off the simulator. It does not switch back on by itself, unless the BIOS is set up to; if it is not switched back on before the next scheduled shutdown, it becomes Offline. A schedule changed while the simulator is asleep only counts from the next shutdown. |
| Offline | No signal for more than a minute, without an announced sleep or shutdown. |
When several states combine, the first one in this table is shown: a simulator in maintenance during a race appears Racing. The last four statuses designate a simulator that does not respond.
Filter
- Search simulator…: filters on the simulator's name.
- All statuses: only shows the simulators with a given status.
- CSV: downloads the displayed list (same search and status filters), with the status of the simulators, their last connection and their measurements.
Act on a simulator remotely
Find the simulator
In Simulators, find the simulator's row. The buttons are grayed out as long as the simulator is Offline, Asleep, Powered off or License inactive: no command can reach it.
Choose the command
| Button | Effect on the simulator |
|---|---|
| Lock | Unlock: the simulator accepts a player without a QR code, for the center's default session duration. A simulator in maintenance stays in it: end the maintenance first. Lock: the simulator goes back to the screensaver and requires a scan. |
| Maint. | Shows the maintenance screen and locks the simulator. A second press ends the maintenance; the simulator then stays locked. See Show a maintenance screen. |
| Standby | Turns off the screen and locks the simulator. Grayed out during a race: "Standby unavailable during a race". See Put a simulator on standby. |
| Restart | Restarts the simulator's computer: Windows closes everything and restarts 5 seconds after receiving the command. |
| AC | Close Assetto Corsa: stops the game without restarting the machine, for example when Assetto Corsa is frozen. Only active when Assetto Corsa is running. |
On a phone, these buttons are grouped behind Commands, on the simulator's card, with the Diagnostics button. Without the right to control the simulators, only Diagnostics appears there.
Wait for confirmation
While the command is being sent, the button shows a spinner and the other commands for this simulator are blocked, for up to 30 seconds.
Result
The simulator's Status changes as soon as the simulator has applied the command: Unlocked after an unlock, Maintenance after putting it in maintenance, Standby after standby. After Restart, the simulator becomes Offline during the restart, then returns to a normal status as soon as IGNITION is running again. Locking, unlocking, standby, maintenance and restart are recorded in the Log: see Track interventions.
Restart is sent without asking for confirmation, including on a simulator that is Racing: the player's race is cut off.
View a simulator's diagnostic
Click the button in the Diag column. The Diagnostics panel immediately asks the simulator for a screenshot and fresh measurements; they arrive in less than 30 seconds (Capturing on the simulator…). Refresh asks for another one.
The panel shows:
- the simulator's screenshot;
- Free disk, Uptime (time since the last start), IGNITION version and Config version (the settings version applied by the simulator, followed by pending as long as a change made in NEXUS has not reached it yet);
- Log level: leave Normal; Omnisim support may ask you for Support or Deep during a diagnostic;
- Log · tail: the last lines of the simulator's log. Copy puts them in the clipboard, so you can send them to support.
Good to know
- Commands do not stack. A simulator only carries out one command at a time; a new command sent before the previous one has finished replaces it.
- Unlocking from NEXUS uses no QR code. The player drives for the center's default session duration, set in Set up game sessions.
- The simulator type is set on the simulator, in the IGNITION settings, not in NEXUS.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| The buttons are grayed out | The simulator is Offline, Asleep, Powered off or License inactive. | See A simulator appears offline. An Asleep simulator wakes up at the scheduled time. |
| The command columns do not appear | Your role does not allow you to control the simulators. | Ask an administrator of the account to give you the Front desk, Technician or Center manager role. |
| "You don't have permission to do this." | Your rights changed since the page was opened. | Reload the page; if needed, ask for the right to control the simulators. |
| "The command could not be sent." | NEXUS could not send the command. | Try again, and check that the simulator is online. |
| "Fleet truncated: not every simulator is shown. Contact support." | Your fleet exceeds the number of simulators the page displays. | Contact Omnisim support. |
| No capture available | The simulator has not sent a capture yet, or cannot be reached. | Click Refresh and wait 30 seconds. |
