Install IGNITION
Download the installer, install IGNITION on a simulator, activate the license and make the first settings.
IGNITION installs in a single window, with no wizard to fill in. Plan one license key per simulator: it is the same key for all your simulators, up to the number of simulators of your subscription.
Install
On the simulator, sign in to NEXUS and open Installation, from the menu at the top of the sidebar.
At the Download IGNITION step, click Install v…, then run the downloaded file. Windows asks for administrator permission: accept.
In the Omnisim Ignition window, click Install. The installer downloads the latest version, copies the files, opens the firewall ports, then starts IGNITION.
Result
The window shows "Version … installed in …" and a To finish setting up the simulator panel that recalls the next two steps and the operator access (see Operator access). IGNITION starts on the LICENSE ACTIVATION screen.
IGNITION is installed in C:\ProgramData\Omnisim\Ignition, with a shortcut in the Start
menu. Running the installer again on a simulator that is already equipped updates it in place,
keeping its settings.
Activate the license
In NEXUS, on the Installation page, at the License key step, click Copy.
On the simulator, type the key on the virtual keyboard, then tap CONFIRM.
The simulator registers with NEXUS under an automatic name (SIM 001, SIM 002…). If you
only have one center and a single equipment type, it is assigned to them automatically. Otherwise, see
Link a simulator to a center.
Follow the setup screen
After the license, the simulator shows the STATION SETUP screen. It follows four steps, which tick themselves off:
- License activated;
- Pairing with Omnisim…: the simulator registers with NEXUS, then the step becomes Paired;
- Receiving the subscription;
- Station configuration.
As soon as the subscription is received, the Configure the station button appears: tap it to open the settings and make the first settings.
Until the simulator is configured (center, simulator type and Assetto Corsa folder saved), the screen recalls the operator access shortcut. It disappears afterwards.
First settings on the simulator
From Configure the station, or later through the operator access then ⚙, open the General tab:
SIMULATOR block: choose the Center and the Simulator type, if they are not already filled in. See Link a simulator to a center.
ASSETTO CORSA › AC folder path: IGNITION detects Assetto Corsa by itself in the Steam
libraries and fills in this field. If it is empty or wrong, click Browse… and choose the
Assetto Corsa installation folder, usually
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\assettocorsa. The folder must contain
acs.exe, otherwise it is rejected.
Click Save. IGNITION installs its in-race apps in Assetto Corsa and may ask for administrator permission for the firewall: accept.
Result
The simulator is configured: the setup screen no longer recalls the operator access shortcut.
Good to know
- Starting with Windows is enabled by default: a simulator that is switched back on restarts IGNITION by itself. The Start Omnisim Ignition with Windows box is in the System tab, STARTUP PROGRAMS block.
Then set up the QR reader and the controls: see Connect and set up the QR reader and Configure the navigation controls.
Operator access
On the simulator, Alt + Delete locks or unlocks it. The ⚙ settings button only appears on an unlocked simulator: to open the settings, press Alt + Delete, then tap ⚙.
This shortcut is for the operator only: do not share it with players.
The center PIN code (see below) is only requested to unlock the simulator with Alt + Delete, in the OPERATOR ACCESS window, and only if the center has an active PIN code and the simulator is configured. Locking the simulator never asks for it, and neither does a simulator in free access.
Protect the settings with a PIN code
We recommend setting a PIN code for the center. In NEXUS, Settings › IGNITION › Access to the simulator settings, turn on Protect settings with a PIN code and choose a 4-digit code. It applies to all the center's simulators: it is requested to unlock a simulator with Alt + Delete, and every time the settings are opened.
