Update IGNITION

Choose how your simulators receive new versions of IGNITION, and check the installed version.

Your simulators update themselves, without ever interrupting a game: an update is only installed on a locked simulator, when Assetto Corsa is closed.

Choose the update mode

In NEXUS, Settings › IGNITION, Updates block:

Mode	Effect
⟳ Automatic (default)	Simulators update to the latest available version as soon as they are locked.
⚙ Manual	Simulators install the target version chosen in Target version.
⊘ Disabled	No automatic update: simulators stay on their current version.

The Stable Channel suits most centers. Beta receives new versions before everyone else.

The simulator looks for a new version when it starts, then every 6 hours. When it finds one and is free:

it switches to maintenance: the screensaver shows SIMULATOR UNAVAILABLE;
it downloads the version and checks its integrity;
it installs the update and restarts IGNITION. During installation, the screen shows "IGNITION update in progress" and "Do not restart the simulator" until IGNITION comes back;
it leaves maintenance on its own.

Do not restart the simulator while this screen is shown: the installation is copying files.

Its settings are kept.

In NEXUS: Version column of Simulators.
On the simulator: ⚙ › Versions tab, which shows the INSTALLED VERSION and the AVAILABLE VERSIONS.

Switch to ⚙ Manual mode and choose the older version in Target version. Automatic mode never downgrades.

Symptom	Cause	Solution
A simulator stays on an old version	It is never locked long enough, or the mode is Disabled.	Lock it outside opening hours, or check the mode.
A simulator no longer updates at all	Three attempts failed for this version.	Run the installer again from Installation: it updates in place and keeps the settings.
"The update did not complete": "Some files could not be replaced. …"	Copying the files failed.	Nothing to do: IGNITION restarts with the version already installed and tries again later.
"The update did not complete": "IGNITION did not restart. …"	IGNITION did not come back after the installation.	Tap the screen to close the message, then restart the simulator. If the problem persists, contact Omnisim support.
