Install a simulator

Prepare a simulator

What the machine needs before you install IGNITION, and the Windows settings that keep a simulator from being switched off in the morning.

An Omnisim simulator is a Windows racing PC with Assetto Corsa installed. A few settings, made once and for all, let it start on its own in the morning and stay reachable from NEXUS all day.

The machine

ItemWhat you need
SystemWindows 10 or 11.
Assetto CorsaInstalled through Steam, on a Steam account that owns it.
Content Manager, Custom Shaders PatchNot required by IGNITION.
Additional software to installNone: IGNITION ships with everything it needs.
Internet connectionPermanent: every QR code scan is checked with NEXUS.
Windows administrator accountFor installation only. IGNITION then runs under a standard account.
Steering wheel, pedals, QR readerPlugged in before the first setup.

Windows settings

Automatic sign-in. IGNITION starts when the simulator's Windows session opens. Use a dedicated local account, without a password or with automatic sign-in, so that a simulator that is switched back on reaches the screensaver by itself.

Sleep set to "Never". In the Windows power options (Settings › System), set screen and computer sleep to Never. IGNITION handles standby and shutdown, according to the schedules you set in NEXUS.

Windows updates. Schedule their restarts outside your opening hours, so that an unexpected restart does not interrupt a session.

Network

IGNITION communicates with NEXUS over HTTPS, with no special configuration. The installer itself opens, in the Windows firewall, the ports the simulator needs for multiplayer and content sharing between simulators:

UsePorts
Multiplayer lobbyTCP 7000, TCP 9999, UDP 9998
Race serverTCP 8888
Content sharing between simulatorsTCP and UDP 22000, UDP 21027

If your network filters connections between machines, allow these ports between the center's simulators.
