Schedule shutdown and wake-up
Have your simulators go to sleep or shut down at closing time, then wake up on their own before opening, and know how this schedule differs from the Standby button.
Scheduled sleep switches your simulators off at closing time and back on before opening, without anyone having to go from one to the next. It is set once per center, in Settings › Energy.
Schedule or “Standby” button?
The Standby button in Simulators only turns off the screen: the simulator stays on, reachable, and wakes up with a click on Wake. The schedule on this page, however, actually puts the machine to sleep: nothing can reach it until the wake time. For the button, see Put a simulator on standby.
Choose the mode
Open Settings › Energy, Mode block, and choose what the simulators do at the end of the day:
| Mode | At the scheduled time | Back in the morning |
|---|---|---|
| ○ Disabled (default) | Nothing: the simulators stay on. | — |
| 🌙 Sleep | The simulator goes into Windows sleep. | It wakes up on its own at the Wake time. |
| ⏻ Shut down | The simulator shuts down completely. | Omnisim does not switch it back on: only the machine's BIOS can do so, if it is set up for it. |
For most centers, 🌙 Sleep is the right choice: it is the only mode that wakes the simulators up without a setting on each machine.
Schedule sleep and wake-up
Choose Sleep mode
Select the center or centers in the sidebar, open Settings › Energy and choose 🌙 Sleep. The Shutdown and Wake-up blocks appear.
Set the shutdown time
In Shutdown, leave Same time every day on and enter the Shutdown / sleep time (22:00 by default).
For different times depending on the day, turn off Same time every day: each day then has its own row, with a box to turn it on and its time. On an unticked day, the simulators stay on.
Set the wake time
In Wake-up, set the Wake time (07:00 by default) in the same way, or one time per day.

The sheet's banner shows ✓ SAVED and online simulators receive the schedule within a few seconds. In the evening, at the shutdown time, each free simulator goes to sleep: in Simulators, its status changes to Asleep. In the morning, it wakes up, turns its screen back on by itself and becomes Available again as soon as it sends its first signal. A standby set the day before with the Standby button is lifted on wake-up: each simulator is ready at opening time.
Good to know
- A busy simulator goes to sleep later. At the scheduled time, the simulator only goes to sleep if it is locked and Assetto Corsa is closed. Otherwise, it tries again as soon as it becomes free: until the wake time in 🌙 Sleep mode, until midnight in ⏻ Shut down mode (or without a wake time). A simulator you switch back on by hand during the night, or whose IGNITION restarts, is not put back to sleep before the following evening.
- The time is the simulator's time. The schedule follows the Windows clock of each machine: check that it is correct and in your center's time zone. NEXUS alerts, however, follow the center's Time zone (Settings › Center).
- An unticked wake-up day leaves the simulator asleep until the next active wake-up day. Example: wake-up unticked on Saturday and Sunday, a simulator that went to sleep on Friday evening wakes up on Monday morning.
- In ⏻ Shut down mode, a simulator switched off by the schedule appears Powered off in Simulators, not Offline: you can tell it apart from a broken-down simulator. It stays that way until the next scheduled shutdown; if nobody has switched it back on by then, it becomes Offline. Omnisim cannot switch on a machine that is off: switch it back on every morning, or set up its BIOS.
- In 🌙 Sleep mode, a simulator stays Asleep until 10 minutes after the wake time, then becomes Offline if it has not come back.
- A schedule changed while the simulator is asleep only counts from the next shutdown: the sleeping simulator keeps the deadline it announced when it went to sleep.
- No "offline" alert for a simulator that the schedule put to sleep or switched off. In 🌙 Sleep mode, NEXUS does not report a silent simulator between the shutdown time and the wake time, in center time; if it has not come back 10 minutes after the wake time, the alert is sent. In ⏻ Shut down mode, a simulator that went silent at the shutdown time is not reported before the next scheduled shutdown: a closed weekend therefore does not trigger an alert. A simulator that breaks down during the day is reported as usual. With Same time every day, the rule applies to all seven days of the week.
- A sleeping simulator receives no command: neither Wake, nor maintenance, nor restart, until its scheduled wake-up.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| A simulator did not go to sleep | It stayed unlocked or racing until the wake time, or its connection to NEXUS was down when the schedule changed. | Lock it at closing time. Check that it is online in Simulators. |
| A simulator does not wake up in the morning | The wake-up day is unticked, or the simulator cannot register its wake-up on this Windows account. | Check the Wake-up block. If the day is indeed active, switch it back on by hand and notify Omnisim support. |
| The simulator woke up but shows the Windows lock screen | Windows asks for sign-in on wake-up. | Sign in; IGNITION corrects this setting when the Windows account allows it. |
| The simulators do not switch back on in ⏻ Shut down mode | Wake by clock is not configured in the BIOS. | Configure it on each machine, or switch to 🌙 Sleep mode. |
