Show a maintenance screen
Take a simulator out of service during an intervention, with your own image or the SIMULATOR UNAVAILABLE screen, from NEXUS, a command QR code or the simulator itself.
Maintenance mode locks a simulator and replaces its screensaver with an "out of service" screen. Use it during a repair, a wheel adjustment or cleaning, so that nobody tries to play.
Choose the maintenance screen
Select the center or centers in the sidebar, then open Settings › IGNITION, Maintenance block.
In Maintenance image, choose:
- Default: a dark background with the text SIMULATOR UNAVAILABLE;
- Image: your own image. Click Change on the Displayed image row and upload a jpg, png or webp file of 10 MB at most.

Put a simulator in maintenance
Three ways, your choice:
Open Simulators. On the simulator's row, click the button in the Maint. column (wrench). On mobile, open the simulator's Commands, then tap Maintenance.
The simulator must be online: the button is grayed out if it is offline.
Result
The simulator locks and shows your maintenance screen. In Simulators, its status changes to Maintenance and the button in the Maint. column lights up in orange. From NEXUS or by command QR code, the action is recorded in the Log: Maintenance on.
End maintenance
Repeat the same action: Maint. button (or End maint. on mobile), new scan of the command QR code, or untick Maintenance mode on the simulator. The simulator comes back locked, on its usual screensaver. From NEXUS or by command QR code, the Log records Maintenance off.
Good to know
- A customer ticket is refused during maintenance. The simulator shows "Simulator under maintenance — your ticket was not used. Please ask at the front desk.": no session opens and the ticket is not charged.
- Unlocking from NEXUS does not end maintenance. End it first with the Maint. button. The Unlock command QR code and the Free access QR code, however, do end it.
- Maintenance survives a restart of the simulator: it stays in place until you end it.
- An IGNITION update puts the simulator in maintenance for the duration of the installation, then takes it out on its own. A maintenance you set yourself, however, never ends on its own. See Update IGNITION.
- Your image is shown once the simulator has downloaded it. Until then, the simulator shows the SIMULATOR UNAVAILABLE screen.
Troubleshooting
| Message or symptom | Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| The Maint. button is grayed out | The simulator is offline, or a command is already in progress on it. | Wait for the command to finish, or see A simulator appears offline. |
| The simulator shows SIMULATOR UNAVAILABLE instead of your image | Maintenance image is set to Default, or the image is not downloaded yet. | Check the setting in Settings › IGNITION; leave the simulator online for a few minutes. |
| "File too large (max 10 MB)" | The image exceeds 10 MB. | Reduce it before uploading. |
| "Image format only (jpg, png, webp)" | The format is not accepted. | Convert the image. |
| On the simulator: "Simulator under maintenance — your ticket was not used. Please ask at the front desk." | A customer scanned their ticket during a maintenance you set. | End the maintenance if the simulator is repaired, then have the ticket scanned again. |
| On the simulator: "Command QR code invalid or expired." | The command QR code is revoked, outside its period, or from another center. | Check its row in QR Codes, Command QR codes tab. |
