QR codes
Understand a QR code rejection at the simulator
All the messages a simulator can show when it refuses a QR code, their cause and what to do.
When a simulator refuses a QR code, it shows a message in red for 5 seconds, in the simulator's language. This table lets you answer the player right away.
The ticket itself
| Message on screen | Cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| "Unknown QR code." | The code does not match any Omnisim ticket: another system, damaged printed code. | Check that the player is presenting the right QR code; find their ticket in QR Codes by their email. |
| "This QR code is not valid at this center." | The ticket was bought for another center. | Direct the player to the right center, or issue them a ticket here. |
| "This QR code has been disabled." | The ticket was disabled, by hand or by a full refund. | Reactivate it in QR Codes › Tickets (Active switch) if justified. |
| "This QR code has expired." | The validity date has passed. | Issue a new ticket if you want to make a goodwill gesture. |
| "This QR code has already been used (no access left)." | All the uses are spent. | The player must buy a new ticket. |
| "This QR code has no time left." | The time credit is used up. | The player must buy a new ticket. |
| "This ticket is not valid for this type of simulator." | The ticket targets another equipment type. | Direct the player to a simulator of the right type. |
| "This product is not available at this time." | The scan takes place outside the product's time slots (center time). | Wait for the time slot, or widen the product's time slots in Products. |
Passes
| Message on screen | Cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| "Daily limit reached: … of … sessions played today." | The day's maximum number of sessions is reached. | The player comes back on the day shown in the rest of the message. |
| "This pass gives no access to the simulators today." | The pass is closed that day (maximum at 0). | The player comes back on the day shown. |
| "No more sessions available before this pass expires." | No day is open any more before expiry. | Offer a new pass. |
The simulator and its other players
| Message on screen | Cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| "This ticket is already in use on … Scan it there again to release it." | The ticket holds an open session on another simulator. | Re-scan the ticket on the simulator shown, then here. |
| "A session is already running for this ticket." | A session is still open for this ticket. | Wait for the end of the session, or release it by re-scanning the ticket on its simulator. |
| "Center closed — this simulator is no longer in service" | The simulator's center is archived. | Direct the player to another center, or unarchive this one. See Set up your center. |
| "This simulator is already in use with another ticket." | Another player is using this simulator. | Wait for the end of their session. |
| "Simulator under maintenance — your ticket was not used. Please ask at the front desk." | The simulator is in maintenance. The ticket was not charged. | Direct the player to another simulator, or end the maintenance if the simulator is repaired. See Show a maintenance screen. |
The connection
| Message on screen | Cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| "Internet connection lost — try again in a moment." | The simulator can no longer reach Omnisim. | Check the center's connection, then have the code scanned again. |
| "Unable to validate the QR code (communication error). Try again." | Exchange with Omnisim interrupted. | Have the code scanned again. If this persists, check the network. |
| "Reader not configured (platform API missing). Contact support." | The simulator is not installed correctly. | Contact Omnisim support. |
| "Command QR code invalid or expired." | Command QR code revoked or out of date. | Issue a new one. See Issue a QR code. |
| "QR code refused." | Reason not detailed. | Check the ticket in QR Codes; if needed, contact support. |
Good to know
- A scan during the race is ignored: the simulator reads no QR code while Assetto Corsa is running or the results are displayed.
- Find a ticket: in QR Codes › Tickets, the search accepts the email, the username or the ticket identifier. The Uses column and the Expires on date explain most rejections.
