Sell a booklet

Offer several sessions in a single purchase. The customer receives one QR code, reusable until all its uses are spent.

A booklet groups several sessions of the same duration into a single QR code. The customer buys it once on your booking page, or you hand it over at the front desk, then they scan it at each visit until its uses are spent.

Booklet or PDF ticket bundle?

The booklet is a product: a single QR code, several uses. The PDF ticket bundle is an issuing format: several separate QR codes printed in a PDF, designed for businesses. This page covers the former. For the latter, see Print a PDF ticket bundle.

Create the booklet

Open the form

In NEXUS, open Products, then click New product.

The product is created in each center selected in the sidebar. If you have selected several, only the simulator types present in all these centers are offered.

Choose the type

In Product type, choose Booklet. In Client type, leave Individual to sell on your booking page.

The client type cannot be changed after creation. A Company product never appears on the booking page.

Describe the booklet

FieldWhat to enter
Product nameThe name the customer will see, for example Booklet 5 × 30 min.
Simulator typeThe simulators on which the booklet is accepted. A booklet is valid for a single type.
Price incl. taxThe price of the whole booklet, in your account's currency.
Session duration (min)The duration of one session, in minutes. 30 by default.
Number of usesThe number of sessions in the booklet. 5 by default.

Set the validity

In Validity, choose one of the two modes:

  • Duration: each QR code expires a number of days after its purchase or issue (Validity period (days), from 1 to 3,650).
  • End date: all QR codes expire on the same day, at midnight, center time (Valid until). After this date, the booklet leaves the booking page.

Set up the sale

  • Visible on the booking page: leave it on to offer the booklet on the booking page. When off, the booklet stays active and you can still issue it from QR Codes.
  • Availability calendar: leave Always available, or tick the time slots during which the booklet is on sale and usable at the simulator.

Create

Click Create.

Result

The booklet appears in the Products list, with the type Booklet, the Visibility and Active switches on. On your booking page, it is listed under the Booklets tab, with the duration of one session, its name, the number of sessions (× 5 sessions) and its price.

What the customer receives

After paying, the customer sees Booking confirmed! and receives an email containing one QR code. This QR code carries all the sessions of the booklet: they present it to the simulator's reader at each visit.

If sending the email fails, NEXUS retries automatically. You can follow its status in QR Codes › Tickets, Status column.

Hand over a booklet at the front desk

For a customer who pays on site:

Open QR Codes and click Create ticket.

Choose Individual, then the Single ticket format.

Select your booklet in Product. The product's validity is applied; you can change it for this customer only.

Enter the customer's Driver username and Email, then click Generate.

The customer receives the same email as after an online purchase. A booklet hidden from the booking page remains available here, but not a deactivated booklet.

Good to know

  • A use is only deducted at the end of the session, never at scan time. If the customer stops before the end, the remaining time is kept: at the next scan, the simulator gives them back this time before starting a new use. See How a QR code's credit is used.
  • A QR code can only be used on one simulator at a time. Re-scanned on the same simulator, it locks or unlocks it without deducting anything.
  • The number of booklets on sale can be capped in Settings › Booking, Products on sale at the same time block. Lowering the cap removes nothing from sale.
  • Track the uses: in QR Codes › Tickets, the Uses column shows the uses remaining out of the total (3/5).
